A substantial number of startups fail because they are building the wrong products. To mitigate this risk, here are examples of hypothesis that need to be validated as early as possible:
- We are targeting the right customer segment(s)
- We are addressing the right jobs, pains, gains - the things that matter the most to the customers
- We relieve pains sufficiently
- We create sufficient gains
- We are sufficiently different from and/or better than our competition
- We can reach the market and establish the right relationships
- We can create more revenue than we incur costs
